Who Are We

Call In Sick Tips Revealed is a journal about sick leave: what it is for, where it came from, how workplaces record it, and why a straightforward idea produces so much awkwardness on an ordinary morning.

The entries here are general and descriptive. They deal with policy, scheduling, paperwork and the language people use, and they are written for anyone who has to operate one of these systems from either side. Nothing on this site is medical, legal or professional advice, and nothing here should take the place of a qualified practitioner where a real difficulty is involved.

New entries are added to the front page and grouped by month in the archive. The three standing subjects are Sick Leave, which covers entitlement, notification and paperwork; Workplace, which covers how organisations arrange cover and record absence; and Rest and Wellbeing, which covers recovery, returning to work and the way absence policies are written.
